Hello from Inspirations Theater Camps!
...Where we never act silly. Ever.
Let's put on a show!
First we'll need to do some rehearsals...
...Where there might be a few mild differences of opinion...
We'll do some art in the afternoons...
Even get to make our own masks to use in the show!
But before we go on stage, we need to make sure our casting is in order...
We'll need a princess, and a pauper...
And some ruffians...
Servants...
And ministers for the palace...
Some feisty knights...
...If only someone would have remembered to cut some eye-holes in this thing.
Let's throw in a wicked stepfather...
And the ever-lively King Henry VIII--ummmm, your highness?
That's more like it!
Some prisoners...
"We're in the stocks?! Wait...did I sign up for this?"
Oh yeah, we'll also have the six wives of Henry VIII...what could possibly go wrong?
Wait...doesn't he kill one of those wives?
'Ummm...no one told me I'd be getting beheaded when I signed up to play Anne Boleyn!'
'Don't worry, you won't be alone! His fifth wife gets beheaded too!'
'Waitaminute...that's me. Hold on...'
'We're almost ready...we just need music!'
We give you...
The Vermont Pit Orchestra! Yow!
Okay, I think everyone's happy with the casting--we're ready to go!
...Er, almost everyone.
Folks are starting to arrive...
So there's time for one last round of warm-ups before we start, led by our staff.
"Nervous? Who's nervous?! Directors don't get nervous!! (!?)"
Don't worry, Torsti--it's under control.
Just keep things light!
Okay, let's get on with the show!
We'll fill it with songs...
And surprise;
Big dreams...
...Sadness...
And...and.....ummmm........??
We'll get to be sneaky...
...and sleepy.
There'll be group songs...
...And dances.
Let's not forget some tension!
"What you lookin' at? You want a piece of me?"
And lo, one of our big dramatic scenes!
It's a swordfight...pretty serious business, wouldn't you think?
...Unless someone starts to get the giggles...
Wait, wait...I think I can hold it...
...But sometimes, you've just got to roll with it.
Often, the action would be centered on the stage...
"But wait, look--something's happening stage left!"
"...Excuse me?"
We aren't distracted from our scene. There's absolutely nothing interesting going on stage left.
"No, wait...look over there, stage right!"
Not impressed.
We'll finish with a big number...
...And a big knight scene...
...That'll knock 'em dead!
That's the show, folks!
The audience sure seemed to like it!
...With memories for a lifetime.
See you next year!
