Message from Inspirations Theater Director Torsti Rovainen for 2020 programs
We’re happy this year to offer five programs in three states for youth ranging in ages from 7 to 18! This year’s show The Ramayana is always a big hit—what’s not to like with kidnappings, ten-headed demons, and a city of monkeys? We look forward to working with both our returning students—some of whom this will be their seventh season with Inspirations—as well as new friends and family who join us this summer.
Cheers, and looking forward to the shows!
Torsti Rovainen

Casting process update
This year we will be doing the casting for the shows the first week of the program. In past years, we have done it in early May.
The way it works:
—All students are asked to learn several group songs from the play before the program begins
—They are given access to the songs (CD or mp3.) and the script (online pdf.) upon enrollment to become familiar with the show
—The first few days of the program we go through the show, and students get to feel out which scenes, songs, and characters they are most interested in. Casting still varies depending upon age; see more on that here Students then submit their casting preferences to us.
— Casting is set by Friday of the first week of the program. Students then learn their lines and songs with gusto.
**Note: the final performances will still be spirited, though they will not benefit (as in past years) from students having entered the program already having memorized their lines. However, having seen multiple youth theater programs employ this model, we are confident that the final shows will be entertaining; and in our experience, the kids pick up the lines very quickly.
The 2-Step enrollment Process
STEP 1: Check in with your child on their theatrical preferences (gender, and for older students, type of part sought for) for this coming year. Questions such as being asked to be considered for a lead role, or which gender a child prefers or is open to for casting should be figured out, either with that child or within the family, before you enroll. We ask this because once we have your child's information and the casting is set, it is very challenging to rearrange things should your child's wishes be different than what came in the enrollment form. When there is this type of discrepancy, in almost all cases we stick with the initial casting.
STEP 2: Fill out the enrollment form below, using the 'Additional Comments' section if there are any changes to your contact information.
**Medical form updates--if the information on your medical & pick-up authorization are the same as previous years, you needn't fill out a new form. If there is a small change, you can email that to us; if insurance policies, addresses or such have changed, please fill out a new form.
Once these two steps have happened, and assuming the tuition agreement is in place, your child will be officially enrolled.
### bonus: — if you are a RETURNING FAMILy, and
— you welcome someone to enroll in one of our summer
programs who has not done a summer program before,
— you GET $50 off your tuition and you can give that incoming a certificate for $50 off their tuition** (up to two families)
**limit two $50 certificates per returning family for up to $100 off for you.
How it works: if you’re the link in welcoming someone new to register, once you’ve enrolled, send us an email, letting us know their name; and once they’ve registered, we’ll send you and them the $50 certificates. It's a way of welcoming in new families while thanking our returning families for your continued patronage.
** if you have siblings enrolling (including ones doing a different program):
— fill out this longer form for one child
— click on the link to ‘sibling enrollment’ at the bottom of the form (-after- you have pressed the black submit button for the first form)
— fill out the shorter form for the sibling(s).
the links to the medical forms and payment are at the bottom of either form.
